Mikołaj Rejs: Habitat

On Saturday 17.09.2016, we are launching a new exhibition in our Galerie Ecke during the Berlin Art Week. "Habitat" by Krakow-based polish street artist Mikołaj Rejs is a tribute to the old slavic folklore and magical creatures. The works of Mikolaj Rejs aim to represent the specific habitat of ghosts, gods and demons, parallel universes and portals and mirrors to our own world.
Mikołaj Rejs (1984) – involved in street art since the late 90’s. His works are created mostly in the post-industrial areas. Participated in numerous graffiti and street art events (including “20 years of Krakow houser” Nürnberg 2016, Meetings of Styles, Lublin 2011-2014, Street Art Festival, Katowice 2011, Outline Colour Festival, Lodz 2009, Brain Damage, Warsaw, 2003).

Co-founder of artistic and educational projects (Day with art, MOCAK Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow 2012, the Polish-Ukrainian-Moldovan project Artdrome, Lugansk 2012, Between the Wall, Legnica 2012, Roads to Freedom, MOCAK 2011). Curator of few international street art events. His small format works and photographs have been exhibited in numerous group exhibitions, inter alia: “Bonarka” Center of Contemporary Art, Krakow 2004, “Graffiti vs Street Art”- Zacheta ,Lublin 2011,”Full Moon Art” Warsaw 2014, and individual “Urban Chapels” Onamato gallery, Krakow 2013, “NOUMEN” Krakow 2014.
