Black Flag by Victor Ash
- Dec 12, 2024
Urban Spree Prints release "Black Flag", the latest screen print from the Copenhagen-based French artist Victor Ash.
Produced in Berlin by Oliver Nerlich, the 1-colour print is inspired from a basic computer text-based graphics ASCII 8-bit code page 437. It uses eight bits to represent a letter or a punctuation mark. These graphics are much used by hackers and internet pirates.
"Black Flag" strengthens the legacy of the astronaut motive created in Berlin in 2007 by Ash with the famous Astronaut/Cosmonaut painted mural in Kreuzberg, followed by a "Striped" version in Copenhagen.
The print is edited in a limited run of 50 prints and is available in the Urban Spree Shop and online here.
