Paul, Eric, Mike, Alex und Jona kommen aus Thüringen — und damit aus einer Region, in der die Musikszene überschaubar und die Subkultur klein ist. Weil alle Mitglieder des Konglomerats MAMORÉ seit Jahren in Punk-, Stoner- und Hardcore-Kontexten aktiv sind, kennen sie sich nicht erst seit gestern. Der Tag, an dem sich das Fünfgespann zum ersten Mal gemeinsam im Proberaum getroffen hat und zu einer NNDW-70’s-Rock- Straßenschlager-Band verschmolzen ist, liegt allerdings gerade mal ein volles Kalenderjahr zurück. Anfangs war MAMORÉ lediglich die Ausgeburt einer Laune: Paul hat an der Drum Machine herumgespielt und ein paar an die 80’s erinnernde Elektropop-Loops gebaut. Als er Eric seine Skizzen zeigt, beschließt dieser kurzerhand, die Beats mit selbstgeschriebenen deutschen Texten zu komplementieren. Erics nachhallender, von opernhafter Überbetonung und rollenden R’s durchzogener Stakkato-Gesangsstil wird zum prägenden Element im MAMORÉ-Sound.
