About
PHASE2 started graffiti in 1971. He quickly became one of the most important writer and influenced the scene with his reknown and creative style.
This new book pays tribute to Phase 2's relentless battle for the abolition of the term progran, a label imposed by the media in the 1970s on the emerging writing movement, of which he was one of the founding fathers and leading innovators.
The book takes us on a journey following Phase 2's movements through major Italian cities. From Milan to Bologna, Rimini to Turin, each stop reveals unique works left by the artist on the streets, from his arrival in Italy in 1984 for the Arte di Frontiera event, to his last appearance in 2012.
Through an extensive collection of unpublished material, including photos capturing the essence of that era, along with drawings, graphics, and notes from the artist, we can delve into the creative process and philosophy behind the works that continue to captivate and inspire. This invaluable and precious material has been made available thanks to the contributions of some of the most prominent figures in the Italian Hip Hop scene, who have agreed to share and pass down words and memories of the moments spent together.
Through their testimonies, we will discover how his time in Italy influenced and helped shape the country's Hip Hop scene. An extraordinary journey where the history of Phase 2 and Italian Hip Hop have merged into a unique, unrepeatable street symphony.
