About the artist

Chris Daze Ellis was born in 1962 in New York City. He began his career painting New York City subway cars in 1976 while attending The High School of Art and Design. He remains one of the few artists of his generation to make the successful transition from the subways to the studio. His first group show was the seminal “Beyond Words” at the Mudd Club in 1981. Since then, he has exhibited in many cities all around the world. His artworks have been acquired by museums and important private collections.
