Die australische Band Death Bells kommt im Oktober 2022 mit ihren fesselnden Songs irgendwo zwischen Indie der Achtziger, Post-Punk der Jahrtausendwende und klassischem New Wave für Konzerte nach Köln und Berlin.
 
Nach der Veröffentlichung ihres ersten Albums verließen Death Bells 2017 ihre Heimatstadt Sydney und zogen in die Vereinigten Staaten. Ausgedehnte Tourneen und musikalische Entdeckungsreisen führten zur Entstehung einer ambitionierten sechsköpfigen Band rund um die Gründungsmitglieder Will Canning und Remy Veselis. In Los Angeles schufen sie ein gitarrengetriebenes zweites Album, das von Dunkelheit befreit ist und einen neuen Sinn für Positivität ausstrahlt. Auf „New Signs of Life“, ihr Debüt für Dais Records, nutzen Death Bells ihr DIY-Können und stellen kurzerhand mit einem Saxofon die Konventionen der Rockmusik infrage.
 
Das Album erschien in der Mitte der Pandemie. Umso mehr versprühte die Band den Bedarf einen Weg zu finden, um die Songs in einem Live-Kontext zu präsentieren. So fuhren sie zum Salton Sea und nahmen dort „Live From Bombay“ auf. Im Video verschmelzen die raue Kulisse mit der Musik, zu einer einzigartigen audiovisuellen Performance. Jedoch ist damit nächstes Jahr Schluss, wenn Death Bells die verlassenen Landschaften des kalifornischen Strandes gegen die Bühnen in Europäischen Clubs tauschen.
