Urban Spree
Einflüssen. Nach ihrer Debüt-EP „Idiot Like You“ und dem vielbeachteten Album „Body Lotion“ (2022), kehren sie nun mit einem Sound zurück, der tiefer in persönlichen Erzählungen und emotionalen Landschaften.
Bei der Entwicklung von „What's That“ wählten Shybits einen eher autobiografischen Ansatz, und zeigen eine rohe und ergreifende Reflexion ihrer musikalischen Reise. In Zusammenarbeit mit
Zusammenarbeit mit dem Produzenten Fabio Buemi strebte die Band einen facettenreichen Sound an, der
der ihr künstlerisches Wachstum und die Dynamik innerhalb der Gruppe widerspiegelt. Diese Zusammenarbeit bereichert das Album, da es die Gefühle der Nostalgie aufgreift
und erforscht gleichzeitig eine kühlere Ästhetik der 80er Jahre.
Das Album ist von filmischen Qualitäten durchdrungen und lädt den Hörer auf eine nostalgische Reise ein, die Elemente der 80er und 90er Jahre aufgreift, ohne die Essenz zu verlieren, die
Shybits definiert. Die Klanglandschaft ist vielschichtiger und webt Schichten von Emotionen ein die die Komplexität von Beziehungen und persönlichem Wachstum widerspiegeln. Jeder Track bietet eine einzigartige Perspektive und zeigt die Vielseitigkeit der Band und ihre Bereitschaft, mit verschiedenen Stilen, Perspektiven und Emotionen zu experimentieren.
