After releasing their first album in 2012, Fine Times will do an exclusive performance of their upcoming EP Bad::Better (out Oct 9th) right before their show at Reeperbahn Festival.
Fine Times has upped its game with a hook-filled batch of songs recorded with The Zolas’ Tom Dobrzanski and mixed by Dave Bascombe (Charli XCX, Depeche Mode), the cuts brim with danceable indie rock grooves and unforgettable power-pop choruses. The results blend ebullient melodic brightness with an undercurrent of cryptic lyrical darkness and reveals the duo’s fixation with classic ‘80s new wave.

The Zolas’ sound feels like an isolated summer between college semesters. Instantly nostalgic with touches of New York natives Ambulance Ltd., New York adoptee John Lennon, and the lost riffs of mid-90’s campus radio.

The label is appropriately youthful, from the staff to the artists, because that’s who records have traditionally belonged to, and since 2010 Light Organ has stayed true to its original ideals of signing and presenting the best in raw, west coast pop. Beginning with its flagship release of the Our First Christmas compilation, the label has worked with the growing roster of artists to create a watermark for burgeoning success, and this upcoming year with new releases expected from The Zolas, Fine Times, The Matinée, and others, Light Organ Records appears set to find an even higher water level.
