About

"I happened to know that Robert Adams visited Sweden with his Swedish wife Kerstin in 1968. They stayed at her grandparents farm in Öglunda in southern Sweden and Robert made some pictures that later were published in the Swedish magazine Sweden Now and also in the monograph The Place We Live by Yale University Press.

When Robert was awarded the Hasselblad Price in 2009, I decided to travel to Öglunda to see more of the landscape. I found it to be an unusually beautiful place and made some pictures that I sent to Robert and Kerstin. This was in 2010 and I returned a couple of times the next year and sent more pictures. Robert suggested that it would make a nice little book. I thought this was a good idea if he would write a short foreword and if Kerstin would do the calligraphy for the cover. The foreword and calligraphy arrived a couple of weeks later."
