About

Seth: Face aux Murs

This first monograph of the artist Seth retraces 10 years of travels and creations, commented and explained by the artist.

Seth's works combine poetry and messages. The artist places them in a precise context and plays with the environment.

From the war-torn Donbass to the destroyed districts of Shanghai, from the Palestinian refugee camps to the schools of Haiti, Seth's painted children travel the globe. Enigmatic and faceless, they tell of the transformations
that are shaking our planet. Beneath their apparent gentleness, his children transport us into an introspective universe that sheds light on their surroundings. A sensitive reading of the world where the imagination becomes the remedy for all ills.

About the artist

Seth is a French street artist. His works appeared on the walls of Paris in the mid-1990s. A graduate of the École nationale des arts décoratifs, he published the book Kapital with Gautier Bischoff in 2000, which remains the most successful book on French graffiti. From 2003 onwards, he travelled around the world and opened himself up to new ways of painting in urban environments. This experience gave rise to the book Globe Painter (2007). He participates in the documentary programme "Les Nouveaux explorateurs" broadcast by Canal+ which proposes to discover the world through the prism of urban arts.
