Frederik Hahn, aka "Torch", was born in Heidelberg Germany in 1971. He is a musician and author and was among the first artist to rap in German. Torch founded the group Advanced Chemistry and their song Fremd im eigenen Land, one of their first hit, drew attention to racism in Europa. His works influenced an entire generation and is still inspiring people.
His solo album "Blauer Samt" (2000) was a great success in the German-speaking world. To mark his 50th birthday, he is publishing his monograph on the album, which includes insights into its creation process, his hip-hop philosophy and explanations of the individual songs.
